Banbury Cross 班伯里的十字架

班伯里是英國牛津郡的一個小城鎮，以前有的大十字架，後來在 1600 年被清教徒毀了，之後 1859 年在市中心又重建，2005年的時候，公主安 (Princess Anne)在十字架附近豎立了一座女士騎著白馬的青銅雕像，基座上就刻著 "RIDE A COCK HORSE TO BANBURY CROSS TO SEE A FINE LADY"， 與這首流傳數百年的童謠相呼應。

stockings: 襪子，襪子為一雙所以要複數加 s

* silking silk 在 century dictionary 沒有動詞, 在 merriam webster unabridged 有用絲覆蓋的意思，翻成織布還是有點勉強，辦絲綢又怪怪的，不知有沒高手有建議的
* skin 指的是動物的毛皮

cradle: 搖籃
bough: 樹枝, 樹幹

小寶貝在樹上搖呀搖；
風吹來時，搖藍也跟著搖；
樹枝斷了，搖藍會掉下來；
小寶貝會掉下來，搖藍也整個掉下來。

*  100年前的搖籃曲還真直接，唱著樹枝斷掉，小寶貝跟搖籃就掉下來，後來的版本改成搖籃掉下來後，媽媽會接著。比較，沒那麼可怕。
